We currently have an opportunity for a Food Service Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

 

As a Food Service Assistant you will be responsible for:

- Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers & patients, ensuring great customer service at all times

- Working on a hot counter & use of a till during lunch service serving hot & cold meals to serve hospital staff

- Working as a ward host serving meals & beverages to patients when required

- Replenishing & maintaining self-serve coffee machine areas on a daily basis

- Ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy, assisting with waste removal and washing up

- Completing any administration as requested including food temperatures, wastage and cleaning schedules

- Assisting in the effective management of stock and portion control

- Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed

- To raise any issues or customer suggestions and complaints to the Catering Manager

 

Package Description

- 22 hours per week (working 4 shifts over 7 days)

- Working alternating weekend shifts with another FSA

Job Introduction

The catering assistant will be based working for the patient dining department assisting with kitchen cleaning duities, cold food preparation as required and ensuring food is set up for ward delivery. The role may also include duties involved within the other retail departments depending on the needs of the service.

Ensuring that compliance with all company and legal food safety and health and safety requirements are kept at all times.

Main Responsibilities

  • Safe use of industrial catering equipment
  • Decanting and labeling food items
  • Recording of temperatures and corrective actions in accordance with company policy
  • Monthly training to be completed in line with needs for the job role
  • Further assigments may include duties relating to pick and packing, costa retail assistant, front of house, Back of house, retail assistant
