Job Introduction

We have a fantastic and exciting  opportunity for a talented and passionate Business Catering manager to join a well-established team, at a high profile client site in Edinburgh. You will be as passionate about food as we are, we want to make a difference to the daily lives of our clients staff, delivering excellent customer service will be important and you must be able to built strong relationships with the client, staff and colleagues.

To be successful in this role, previous experience of managing a large catering outlet would be preferred, you will have great financial awareness, be a team player with a can do attitude, you will be keen to be involved with the detail of catering for the needs of staff and clients as well as at hospitality events and it is imperative that you are passionate about achieving high service standards on a daily basis. There will be occasional night time functions within the role.

Security clearance is required for this role.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the management of of a large site, inclusive of deli, chef on stage, canteen and 2x coffee shops
  • To organise and assist in the preparation and presentation of all meals service - including functions
  • To devise and implement a strategy of food offer innovation & growth
  • To ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements
  • To organise any special function as required, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours.
  • To establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role we are looking for some or all of the following attributes and experiences: 

  • A sound knowledge of catering policies 
  • Experienced working in catering 
  • A passion for cooking with some of the best ingredients and organic produce. 
  • Some managerial experience although training is on offer for the right applicant
  •  Ideally have some experience of managing budgets
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff at all levels
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
  • CIEH Level 3 Food Safety qualification
  • IOSH Managing Safety qualification
