• 37.5 hours per week
• 5 days out of 7, including weekends on a rota
• £13.46 per hour
• Early shift: 06:30–14:30
• Middle shift: 10:00–18:00
• Late shift: 11:30–23:30
• Bar shift: 15:30–23:30
• Weekend shift: 09:30–17:30

Join Sodexo as our Head Steward and play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience! You’ll lead and inspire the dining room team, ensuring every service and function runs smoothly and our guests receive the warm, professional service they deserve.

You’ll take pride in maintaining outstanding standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer service, while supporting your team through training, organisation and hands-on leadership. You’ll also ensure food safety and Health & Safety standards are consistently maintained, helping create a welcoming, safe and professional environment for everyone.

What you’ll do:

• Supervise, organise, train and motivate the dining room team, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Deliver excellent front-of-house service, ensuring service timings, presentation and quality standards meet client expectations.
• Lead by example, maintaining professionalism, high personal presentation and exceptional standards of cleanliness across front and back of house.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, Health & Safety requirements, safe working practices and cleaning schedules.
• Complete and check relevant documentation, reporting equipment faults, defects and breakages promptly to the Mess Manager.
• Support the preparation and delivery of functions and special events, while continually developing your skills and knowledge in the Head Steward role.

What you bring:

• Background in hospitality, catering or front-of-house service, delivering high standards of customer care.
• Ability to supervise, support and motivate colleagues within a dining or hospitality environment.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate service effectively.
• Good understanding of food safety, Health & Safety and hygiene standards.
• Professional approach, with excellent personal presentation and attention to detail.
• Silver Service training or knowledge of formal dining standards would be desirable.
