• Shift work pattern 2 early / 2 late / 2 off
• This role is casual and will be made permanent upon obtaining airside pass.
• Must be able to provide 5-year checkable work history for airport clearance

Main Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Hygiene
  • Wash and sanitize pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Clean food preparation areas, kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, and storage areas.
  • Remove waste and recycling in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure all cleaning schedules and hygiene standards are consistently met.

• Kitchen Support

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
  • Receive and store deliveries following stock rotation procedures (FIFO).
  • Transport supplies and equipment within the kitchen as needed.
  • Replenish cleaning materials and kitchen consumables.

• Health & Safety

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies at all times.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment faults immediately.
  • Wear the appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Stock and Storage

  • Organize storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Ensure stock is stored correctly and safely.
  • Assist with stock deliveries and inventory checks when required.

• Skills and Experience

  • Previous kitchen porter experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness to company and regulatory standards.
  • Support chefs and kitchen operations efficiently.
  • Complete cleaning duties on schedule.
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and productive working environment.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential 

• Previous experience as Kitchen Porter  who has worked in busy and fast paced work environment
• Calm and patient under pressure
• Able to work within a very busy lounge and stressful environment
• Demonstrative customer focus and service skills  

Desirable

• Lounge experience
