We're looking for a Porter to join our team at the University of Greenwich Medway Campus, where you'll play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of a vibrant educational environment.

From setting up rooms for lectures and events to moving equipment, handling deliveries and supporting campus services, no two days are the same. If you're someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in a job well done and thrives as part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Porter, you'll be at the heart of campus operations, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-organised environment for students, staff and visitors.

What You’ll Do:

  • Moving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies across campus
  • Supporting the collection and delivery of post and parcels
  • Assisting with stock deliveries and equipment transfers
  • Setting up rooms and event spaces for meetings, teaching and special events
  • Supporting University events and activities
  • Maintaining tidy and safe internal and external areas
  • Assisting with waste collection and removal
  • Delivering excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors
  • Working closely with colleagues across Sodexo and the University
  • Following Health & Safety and COSHH procedures at all times

What You Bring:

  • Customer-focused and professional
  • Positive, reliable and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communicators with a helpful, can-do attitude
  • Organised and able to manage changing priorities
  • Committed to delivering high standards of service
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles, including Luton vans
  • Experience in a portering, facilities, logistics, estates or support services role ideal
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours requirements when needed
