Join Sodexo as a Weekend Cook at our National Probation Service Approved Premises in Blackburn. In this lone-working role, you'll prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff, helping to create a safe, welcoming environment. You'll take ownership of all food preparation during weekend shifts, ensuring meals are prepared and served to a consistently high standard while meeting all food safety and hygiene requirements. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting individuals as they transition back into the community.
What you'll do:
• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, high-quality meals in a busy kitchen environment.
• Deliver an excellent dining experience while maintaining consistently high food and service standards.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Environmental Health Officer (EHO) regulations at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen in line with company policies and best practice.
What you bring:
• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment.
• Relevant catering qualifications, such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards. An IOSH qualification would be an advantage.
• A passion for preparing quality food, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
