Are you an experienced Catering Manager with a passion for great food, outstanding customer service and leading high-performing teams?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Catering Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Alanbrooke Diner at Larkhill Garrison. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a busy catering operation that plays a vital role in supporting military personnel through the delivery of high-quality food and hospitality services.

 What you’ll do:

As Catering Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of catering services across the dining facility, ensuring every customer receives a first-class experience while maintaining compliance, quality and commercial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing catering and front of house teams.
  • Managing the daily operation of the dining facility to deliver exceptional food quality and customer service.
  • Planning menus, functions and food offers in line with company standards and budgets.
  • Managing food ordering, stock control and cost management to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety and quality management standards.
  • Building strong relationships with military customers, clients and key stakeholders.
  • Monitoring financial performance, labour costs and KPIs to achieve business objectives.
  • Supporting employee recruitment, training, coaching and performance management.
  • Driving continuous improvement, innovation and service excellence throughout the operation.
  • Supporting attached messes and wider catering operations where required.

What you bring:

You'll be a hands-on leader with excellent organisational skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding catering services.

  • Previous experience managing a catering or hospitality operation.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, food costs and operational performance.
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
  • A recognised catering qualification (such as NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, HND, or equivalent).
  • Intermediate Food Safety qualification (or equivalent).

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
  • CIEH Food Safety qualification.
  • Experience working within a Defence or military environment.
  • Previous PAYD (Pay As You Dine) experience.
