This role calls for an experienced Sous Chef who can lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, maintain exceptional standards, and deliver outstanding food in a fast-paced, client-focused environment while driving commercial success.

What you'll do:

  • Support and deputise for the Head Chef, leading the kitchen team in their absence

  • Deliver high-quality food production across workplace dining, hospitality and events

  • Ensure food is prepared and presented to company recipes, specifications and quality standards

  • Manage food purchasing, stock control, storage and minimise waste in line with budget targets

  • Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen brigade, promoting a positive one-team culture

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, allergen management, health & safety and company procedures

  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness, audits and documentation to maintain excellent compliance standards

  • Support menu development by introducing fresh ideas and seasonal concepts

  • Plan staffing levels and daily operations to meet business demands efficiently

  • Lead daily briefings and chef meetings when required while ensuring excellent communication across the team

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum two years' experience as a Sous Chef within a high-volume catering environment

  • Professional Cookery qualification (City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and health & safety legislation

  • Experience managing food production, stock control and kitchen compliance

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • Strong IT skills and the ability to work to budgets and commercial targets

  • A solution-focused approach with excellent multitasking abilities

  • Experience within Business & Industry catering is advantageous
