Job Introduction

Electrician – HMP YOI Bronzefield

We are looking for a qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Facilities Management team at HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, Surrey. This is a practical, site-based role responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a busy and highly regulated prison environment.

You will play a key role in keeping critical electrical and building services safe, reliable and compliant, carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, inspections and minor works. You will work closely with the wider Facilities Management team, contractors and site management, while maintaining high standards of safety, security and service delivery.

The successful candidate will also undertake the required training, assessment and formal appointment process to become the site's Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP).

HMP Bronzefield is a closed local prison and the largest female prison in the UK and Europe. The prison delivers high-quality, needs-led services that support women to make positive and lasting changes. It supports a diverse population, including mothers with babies, young offenders, women serving a range of sentence lengths, foreign nationals, and those on remand. The site includes residential units, a healthcare centre, gym, library, workshops, visits hall, chaplaincy, and kitchen facilities.

Sodexo operates with three core values: Be Positive, Be Courageous, and Be the Difference. We encourage our people to create hope and respect in every interaction, safely challenge behaviours that do not support a positive environment, and take meaningful action to improve outcomes for those in our care.

By living these values every day, you help create the routines and behaviours that define what good looks like. Every interaction matters, and you play a key role in supporting positive change within the establishment.

Join Sodexo and be part of something greater.
You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.
