Location: Stevenage, SG1 2NY
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Full time, permanent position
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00-14:30
We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Cleaning Operative to deliver day-to-day facilities services across site floors and buildings. This role is key to ensuring all services are delivered confidently, efficiently, and on time — with minimal disruption to customers.
Working as part of the Sodexo team, you will play a vital role in maintaining service excellence standards, supporting a professional environment, and contributing to the overall customer experience on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, replenish stock, clean, and maintain all housekeeping areas within your allocated zone to required standards.
- Respond positively, politely, and promptly to customer requests, always delivering a professional and courteous service.
- Collect, segregate, and manage waste streams, ensuring internal bins are maintained to a high standard.
- Handle confidential waste disposal securely and in accordance with procedures.
- Replenish paper and consumables in multi-functional devices as required.
- Complete Helpdesk requests within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance, wearing company uniform at all times.
- Adhere to all company and client policies, procedures, site rules, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Attend required training sessions and team meetings.
- Represent and promote the company positively at all times.
- Support additional tasks within your training and capability as reasonably requested by your line manager.

- Knowledge and awareness of the facilities industry, particularly cleaning services.
- Strong customer service experience.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a high-quality customer service environment.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and multi-service teams.
