Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Unilever Research & Development, Quarry Road East, Bebington, Wirral, CH63 3JW

Working Hours: 39 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 

• Summer Roster:
  • Work: 2 days, 2 nights
  • Followed by: 4 days off
  • Includes three 18-day breaks built into the fixed rota.
• Winter Roster:
  • Work: 2 days, 2 nights
  • Followed by: 6 days off
  • Includes three 18-day breaks built into the fixed rota.
• Standby:
  • A standby system applies during the first 2 days off, using 38 banked hours and then overtime once banked hours are used.
  • No standby is required during the 18-day breaks.

Hourly Rate: £14.05

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you a dedicated and reliable Security Officer looking to join a supportive and professional team? At Sodexo, we have an exciting opportunity at the Unilever Port Sunlight R&D site. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and operations in a dynamic environment.

 Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment through regular patrols and access control
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems (where applicable)
• Provide clear and professional communication both verbally and in written reports
• Work independently or as part of a team during day and night shifts
• Liaise effectively with site personnel, visitors, and emergency services
• Maintain accurate records and follow standard operating procedures

 Ideal Candidate

• Essential: Valid SIA Security Officer Licence
• Desirable: SIA CCTV Licence
• IT literate with confidence using security systems and reporting tools
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work alone and take initiative
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
• Good organisational and planning capabilities
• Calm and effective under pressure
• A dependable team player
