Location: Shrewsbury School, Kingsland House, Shrewsbury SY3 7BA
Pay: £12.31 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: 6:30am – 3:00pm and 11:30am – 8:00pm (some flexibility required for later finishes)
Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team at Shrewsbury School. This is a great opportunity to be part of a hardworking team, supporting the kitchen operation and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and service areas

• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces

• Manage waste and recycling procedures

• Support chefs with basic kitchen tasks where required

• Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene policies

Person Specification:

• Good interpersonal skills with a calm and positive nature

• Energetic and enthusiastic, with a proactive approach

• Self-motivated and able to take responsibility

• Conscientious with strong time management and a focus on delivering tasks to deadline

• Well-presented and aware of the importance of appearance and attitude

• Able to work as part of a team and support others when needed

Key Performance Indicators:

• Consistently deliver service to required standards

• Proactively contribute to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment

• Comply with all health, safety, and food safety standards, including COSHH and allergen protocols

• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and a Zero Harm culture
