As a Part-time Chef at Sodexo in Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital, Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital Wonford Road, Exeter EX2 4UG, you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. What you’ll do:
Maintain stock control, rotation, and assist with stocktaking and store security
Complete audit and quality documentation as required
Prepare all foods according to standard recipes, production schedules, and special diet requests
Support meal production and service for patients, visitors, and staff at Nuffield hospitals
Follow all legislation, client, and company policies related to patient meal service
Assist management with menu planning, rotas, ordering, and delivery checks
Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards, adhering to Health and Safety regulations
Deputise for the Head Chef when needed
Keep work areas clean and ensure proper storage and disposal of food and supplies
Train and supervise staff to maintain service standards
Wash crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment, including using dishwashers
Perform any reasonable tasks requested by hospital or catering management
What you bring:
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong craft and presentation skills
Good communication and customer focus
Financial awareness
City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or equivalent qualification
Level 2 Hygiene Certificate
