What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of domestic cleaners, fostering a positive and engaged working environment.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with the National Specifications for Cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with ward managers, matrons, and service users, ensuring a patient-first approach.
- Oversee team rosters and deployment of resources, managing ad-hoc cleaning needs as they arise.
- Carry out audits and quality checks, taking swift action where needed.
- Support staff development through training, appraisals (PDRs), and ongoing coaching.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control policies, and uphold the highest standards of patient dignity and care.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
BICSc CPSS
Food hygiene and Health & Safety certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience supervising a cleaning team, preferably in a healthcare or customer-facing environment.
- A caring, compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer care.
- Physically able to push cleaning trolleys and move light furniture as required.
- Good IT skills and a basic level of numeracy and literacy.
