Regional Technical Manager
Location: Southampton-based with regular travel across the UK & Ireland
Salary: £75,000 with annual bonus
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Technical Manager to lead the delivery of technical services across 17 client offices in the UK and Ireland. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement in planned and reactive maintenance, minor works, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for maintenance and compliance activities.
- Maintain and manage the Compliance Matrix, ensuring all sites meet regulatory and contractual standards.
- Collaborate with Regional Workplace Managers to deliver a seamless Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) service.
- Oversee technical quotes and ensure value-for-money solutions for variable works.
- Lead and develop the Technical Services team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Use data and reporting tools to enhance plant performance, energy efficiency, and service delivery.
- Support building shutdowns and manage complex or critical out-of-hours works.
- Communicate complex technical updates clearly to senior client stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- NEBOSH or IOSH safety qualification.
- Proven experience managing electrical and mechanical maintenance in corporate environments.
- Prior experience as an Authorised/Competent Person (AP/CP) in disciplines such as Electrical, Pressure Systems, Working at Heights, or Confined Spaces.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in data analysis and computer systems.
- Engineering competence with NVQ level 5 or equivalent qualifications
- Demonstrated engineering skills, with knowledge of engineering compliance and engineering standards best practice
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solving technical issues, often under pressure, utilising innovative solutions as required
- Demonstrated people management experience aligned to comply with health and safety standards and safe systems of work
- Demonstrate understanding of current and changing legislation and best practice area of discipline
- Demonstrated customer services experience and interpersonal skills
- IT skills using Microsoft Office applications and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, experience of Maximo is desirable
- Demonstrate practical experience of working with, and improving, Helpdesk procedures and workflow requirements procedures
- Demonstrate practical experience with supply chain and subcontractor management
- Demonstrate involvement and understanding of developing, managing and delivering minor engineering projects
