Job Introduction:
As the Staffing & Recruitment Manager for Heritage Portfolio at some of Scotland's most iconic and beautiful cultural destinations, your core responsibility will be managing the allocation of staff to ensure seamless delivery of events and activities across our diverse portfolio, which includes racecourses, event venues, cultural attractions, and cafés. You will play a key role in supporting the implementation of our Heritage Portfolio people strategy, overseeing the recruitment for both casual and salaried roles, and building a comprehensive recruitment plan that aligns with the business needs. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, including right to work, mandatory training, and hiring practices. Additionally, you will manage budget lines to ensure commercial efficiency and support the business by allocating shifts and coordinating freelance and agency staff as required. You will also contribute to the planning and delivery of training and assessment centres, ensuring the attraction and engagement of new talent to help drive the continued success of the business.
What you’ll do:
- Manage the recruitment, induction, and onboarding processes for both casual and salaried employees, ensuring efficiency and compliance with legal obligations.
- Develop and execute a recruitment plan, focusing on direct hires, apprenticeships, internships, and community initiatives with local colleges, universities, and social enterprises.
- Build strong relationships with key local stakeholders, suppliers, and agency partners to support recruitment and staffing needs.
- Ensure staffing levels are cost-effective, suitable for event needs, and meet labour productivity targets, outsourcing to agencies when necessary.
- Drive the promotion of HPL as an employer of choice, leveraging online recruitment and marketing platforms to attract top talent.
- Oversee the development and training of employees, focusing on performance, engagement, retention, and compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Support operational staffing across all venues, including peak periods, ensuring adequate staff coverage and compliance with health, safety, and security standards.
- Report on labour lines monthly, review recruitment plans to address skill gaps, and implement improvements in staffing processes and systems.
What you bring:
- Proven experience in event coordination and staffing management.
- Demonstrated expertise in recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised, responsive, and adept at working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Effective presentation skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly at all levels.
- Experienced in team leadership and performance management.
- Background in operational management and process optimisation.
- Expertise in delivering targeted training sessions on industry-specific topics.
- Familiarity with time and attendance management systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
