Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to join our established team working with our clients based in Yeovil currently going through the company’s biggest transformation for 10 years.

Joining our team at their site, you will be responsible for food production, including craft team management, ordering commodities, assisting with stock takes and updating statistics & completion through our Drive system. You will pre-pare and operate the food suppliers for a multi outlet facility including restaurant, hospitality, food van and shops to produce all catering services at the required times to the company’s standards, within the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.

The Head Chef will ensure the prompt provision and efficient service of all meals and catering requirements at the specified time to the standards laid down in the KPI's, ensuring that methods of preparation, production and presentation comply with Sodexo’s standards & procedures whilst ensuring tariff prices are correct and that all services are costed and charged according to the terms of the contract.

You will control all costs and expenditure, including labour, expenses and cash purchases, staying within the budgeted levels agreed between the Client & Sodexo and maintain the levels of stock, cash, local credit and debt outstanding to the agreed establishment targets whilst ensuring that methods of preparation, production and presentation comply with Sodexo’s standards and procedures.

Actively seeking and identifying opportunities for business growth both within the contract and the external market, you will maximise profitable sales by the introduction and maintenance of food service brands to the standard required by the Company whilst ensuring that all Sodexo employees project a positive, approachable, friendly and professional image at all times.

About You 

Experience and knowledge requirement for this role: 

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a brigade
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments and innovations
  • Must be flexible as the role may require weekend/evening work and helping at other sites 
  • Strong financial understanding and demonstrable budgeting management
  • Proven experience working in a standards/compliance environment 
  • Ability to demonstrate sound service skills and customer focus
  • Strong communication skills and negotiation skills
  • Personal innovation and passion
  • Copes well under pressure
  • IT literate

Qualifications required:

  • 706 1/2 or equivalent as a minimum
  • CIEH level 3 or equivalent
  • HACCP / Food Safety
