Job Introduction

As Catering Assistant for Sodexo at Sevenoaks School, High street, Sevenoaks, TN13 1HU, you will be contributing towards the smooth running of a fast-paced food and beverage operation. You will be responsible for showcasing what the kitchen supplies, presenting it in the most eye-catching way possible, ensuring we are offering the best service possible.

What you do:

  • Assisting with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, sandwiches and snacks.
  • Serving on food counters during meal services or events.
  • Support setting up dining areas, arranging tables and chairs, laying out tableware and utensils
  • Pre and post service cleaning and set up of counters and dining areas
  • Interacting with students and staff courteously and helpfully, responding to inquiries about menu items, dietary restrictions, or special requests, and aiding with food and beverage selection.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food service equipment
  • Assisting with inventory control by monitoring stock levels of food supplies, beverages, and disposables, notifying supervisors when items need to be replenished, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of perishable goods.
  • Adhering to food safety standards and health regulations to ensure safe food handling practices, proper sanitation, and cleanliness in compliance with local health codes and regulations
  • Working collaboratively with kitchen staff, servers, and other catering team members
  • Being flexible and adaptable to handle diverse tasks and responsibilities as required by the demands of the business, including working varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be fully aware of Allergens processes and controls
