Package Description

  • 20 hours per week
  • Monday to Sunday (ideally 10:00-14:00) 
  • Working across two Fire Stations (Huntington Fire Station & Easingwold fire station)
  • Access to company vehicle (Full UK driving license required)

Job Introduction

As a Site Support Operative at North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, you will provide and maintain a high standard of facilities service within contracted buildings, working within the cost limits and resources agreed between the Client and Sodexo

What You'll do:

  • To ensure the efficient delivery collection and sorting of goods and supplies.
  • To assist with accepting deliveries of goods to the site and safe storage of items.
  • To assist with the chaperoning of sub-contractors and any other visitors to site where necessary and ensuring they conform to all site rules
  • To ensure all work-related tasks, for all service delivery lines are delivered in a safe, diligent and best practice manner pertaining to the service requirements of the contract specification and all health, safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Specific tasks associated with the site include but are not limited to, filling BA cylinders, periodic handyperson and redecoration services, grounds maintenance services, preparation of combustible materials and disposal of waste as required for the site and for the FBT units, preparation of and tasks associated with the use of the Smokehouse.
  • To assist in the transportation of ‘light goods’ as required i.e. providing a ported service.
  • To use the radio/pager system on site in a professional manner and to maintain appropriate etiquette at all times.
  • To check all equipment before use and report defects to manager/supervisor if necessary remove faulty equipment.
  • Assist in any catering requirements, deliveries and setting up in meeting rooms and clearing of trolleys.
  • Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards – this to include weekly and period tasks.

What you bring:

  • Previous in a facilities environment
  • The ability to implement and adhere to standards and procedures
  • Health and Safety experience
  • Good interpersonal experience
  • Good customer service skills
  • Methodical approach and good eye for detail
  • Full UK driving license
