Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced Logistics Driver to join our established team working with our clients based in Cambridge.

Joining our team at their sites, you will play provide the day-to-day delivery services required to support the Distribution and Logistics functions between both sites with food and equipment deliveries & collections, supporting the business with carrying and removing of items from van to site and back, completing any Helpdesk shipping requests within the set time frames.

The successful Logistics Driver will also support the day-to-day business with arranging stock, deliveries, collections, removal of waste and supporting daily operations as and when needed, ensuring full compliance of Health & safety at all times and report any concerns or issues with the ability to use and/or drive the van provided.

You will help support the delivery of asset criticality studies and assist with implementing program of works in line with the findings from the criticality assessments and contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of the maintenance strategy for assets.

The Logistics Driver will deliver exceptional customer service to build valuable long-term relationships with customers & clients, representing and promoting the Company wherever possible and demonstrating a high standard of personal hygiene & appearance, ensuring the issued company uniform is worn at all times.

About You 

Experience and knowledge requirement for this role: 

Essential

    General good health / fitness consistent with ability to perform all of the above functions

    Significant supply chain and logistics experience ideally within a pharmaceutical industry

    Good basic education 

    Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers and multi-service team service personnel to achieve results

    Reasonable level of computer literacy (Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages would be an advantage) 

    Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and able to work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines

    Strong team player with a flexible approach and experience in a high-quality customer service operation

    Service orientated attitude combined with innovative thinking

    Able to complete relevant paperwork according to principles of Good Documentation Practice

Desirable

    Basic knowledge of COSHH, IOSH, Health and Safety requirements within a logistics environment

    Demonstrable knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation 

    An understanding of Import and Export requirements

    Experience within a customer-facing environment

    Experience of using hand-held scanning devices

    Good written and oral communication skills

    Strong team player and a ‘can do’ attitude

    Ability to train new staff and to give guidance to team members

Qualifications required:

    Full, clean UK Drivers’ License (no endorsements, pending fines or points) - Required

    ADR Qualification (Preferable)

This position will require the successful candidate to undergo a standard DBS check. Therefore, eligibility is a must.
