Job Introduction

As a Regimental Headquarters Administrator at Merville Barracks, Colchester You'll provide efficient clerical support to the Adjutant/Commanding Officer and Battalion Headquarters personnel. You're the one with the skills to ensure behind the scenes of facilities run like clockwork and ensure your managers feel supported. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. We are looking for someone who is outgoing. dynamic and has the ability to work without supervision.

What you’ll do: 

  • Complete daily tasks using your own initiative and on time.

  • Produce accurate and precise work.

  • Time-manage and prioritise work daily to ensure timelines are met.

  • Conduct PA duties for Commanding Officer including hotel/accommodation booking and transport booking requests.

  • Proactively engage with key personnel of all ranks and outside clients by phone and in person professionally.

  • Assists the Commanding Officer with the significant volume of reports he compiles.

  • Conducts important liaison with those soldiers away from Regimental Duty in order to maintain their reporting profiles.

  • Deep understanding of the Army reporting chain and able to advise Officers on the reports they write.

  • Build and manage MS tracker under the Regimental Career Management Officer. Liaison with APC Glasgow to manage complex problems.

  • Produce / Maintain / Update Repeat Orders, Convening Orders, Delegation of Powers and Board of Enquiries.

  • Will be required to undertake mandatory training 

What you bring:  

  • Security Check (SC) clearance required (this is provided by Sodexo)

  • Civil Service Manuscript Grading Test (30 wpm net speed); or acceptable external qualifications.

  • Knowledge and aptitude for computers.

  • Previous administration experience.

  • Experience of MS Word, Excel, TEAMS and Outlook.

  • Good Telephone Manner.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise work

  • Ability to work to deadlines

  • Able to work with very limited oversight.

  • Essential that you are discreet, sensitive and fully aware of the need for confidentiality.

  • Experienced Administrator with demonstrable skills in autonomy
