Job Introduction

As an EHS Assistant at Sodexo in Richmond, TW9 1EJ, you will assist the Global Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Lead with the provision of high-quality administrative support, focusing on risk assessment, the safety management system, safety audits and inspections and the management of reported incidents and hazards  By keeping others safe, your actions have a meaningful impact. What you'll do:

  • Routine point of contact for Client and IFM provider on all EHS matters
  • Enable compliance with all business-wide policy and strategy through management system audits.
  • Accountable for coordinating / reviewing activities including where necessary to conduct, review and provide guidance on risk assessments, method statements and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure systems / processes implemented and reflect the intentions of Sodexo and the client and are in compliance with best industry practice (OSHA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 (or similar regional alternatives)
  • Ensure appropriate day-to-day support and guidance to the team, supply partners and the client on the provision of guidance and practical expertise on operational Health and Safety standards.
  • Support the delivery of Sodexo training strategy to enable standards of competence to be achieved and maintained.
  • Monthly capturing EHS relevant metrics (MSD contractual scorecards)
  • Support effective business communication through advice, review and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings / toolbox talks, health and safety committee meetings, consultation forums, correspondence, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate.
  • Review incident reports and follow-up actions plans for Client and IFM Provider, escalating delinquencies to Client EHS sponsor (non – vehicle)

  • Team player with a ‘hands on’ approach for obtaining excellence in service delivery
  • Proficient in use of IT platforms, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a EHS role
