Sodexo Live! is thrilled to announce that we are seeking a talented and dynamic Events Manager to join our team at the prestigious Fulham Pier!  

You will use your skills and experience to help us create the ultimate hospitality experience for our guests. 

In this operational role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue's hospitality functions and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will drive performance through adherence to promotional activities and marketing initiatives, maximising profitability, and growing services while maintaining strict budgetary control. 

The Fulham Pier will become the heart of the community and the standard bearer for indulgent experiences, which will attract both Londoner’s and tourist from all over the world!

We have a remarkable selection of food and drink experiences, ranging from, Pop-up bars and pop-up local cuisine, to elegant fine dining experiences. 

Our entertainment options are as exceptional as our dining experiences, and we cater for all tastes and moods.  We offer local theatre, outdoor gigs, jazz clubs, an art gallery, cooking classes, a comedy club, book launches, film nights and water sports, to name but a few. In addition to this we offer educational activities and crèche and soft play facilities. Whether it’s saluting the sun in the morning with riverfront yoga or toasting the night with a magical cocktail we are building a playground for the senses!

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage the day to day running of match day and non-match day hospitality at Fulham Pier 
  • To drive customer satisfaction and embed customer advocacy with own team.
  • To maximise the profitability of the hospitality functions through strict adherence to packages, up-selling where applicable and appropriate and ensuring strict controls over stock are employed.
  • To grow services in order to meet client and commercial expectations whilst maintaining strict budgetary control in line with client and Sodexo expectation.
  • To liaise with all internal parties to ensure seamless service to all internal and external clients.
  • To assume responsibility for overseeing the sale and supply of alcohol whilst maintaining adherence to the site Premises Licence. To operate the Sodexo Challenge 25 policy and ensure that alcohol is not brought onto or taken off the premises.
  • To assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the Pier and the security, safety and wellbeing of all staff and customers whilst the premises are in operation
  • To ensure that all pier staff are compliant with Sodexo standards for dress code and shortfalls are addressed on arrival.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

You will be an expert in operational event management and demonstrate energy and enthusiasm, and have a real a passion for the hospitality industry. You will have previous experience of managing events that required an operational focus and have the ability to deliver a highly superior service at high-capacity events.

You will also have:

  • A strong commercial and business acumen
  • Experience of working with a diverse casual team
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, internally and externally
  • Resilience to manage multiple tasks and prioritise importance
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • The flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed
  • A level 2 Food safety qualification     
  • Level 2 Health and Safety qualification (desirable)
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships 
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team.

You will be rewarded with a salary of between £40,000-£45,000 plus access to a range of excellent benefits, including a performance-related bonus, employer pension contribution and life assurance.
