Job Introduction

As a Water Hygiene Engineer at Sodexo at Merville Barracks, Colchester you will be part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for completing water hygiene PPMs, Remedials and Emergency works as per the relevant regulations and guidelines. You will support the water technical officer to deliver standards of service detailed in the service level agreement, KPIs and within the schedules of the contractual terms and conditions are achieved, maintained, and developed for assigned operational business area. This role is client facing, and you'll interact with our Armed forces personnel every day, improving quality of life for all that you meet. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you’ll do:

  • Main duties but not limited to - Weekly flushing of little used outlets & emergency showers, Temperature monitoring of hot and cold-water systems, Microbiological and Chemistry sampling, TMV full/minor servicing, Showers and spray tap quarterly descaling, Tank inspections, Filtration servicing, purging of expansion vessels and Calorifiers/Water heater inspection and cleaning, Tank clean and disinfection works, conducting closed system analysis and treatment (preferred)
  • Following a planned preventative maintenance program as instructed.
  • You will have experience of working to regulations & standards including ACOP L8, HSG274 part 2 & 3, HTM04-01, BS 8558, BS 8680, and more.
  • You will continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses

What you bring:

  • People Friendly, Customer service skills are essential
  • Held a full UK Driving license for 2 years or more
  • Must be over 25 years of age to driver company vehicle
  • Able to work within a team environment
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Plumbing Skills (preferred)
