In this crucial role, you will be responsible for selling and promoting the venue’s conference and banqueting facilities and delivering an exceptional sales experience to customers, to support budgeted revenues. Your key responsibility will be to drive our C&E sales strategy for the venue, leveraging all elements of our sales engine to ensure a high-performing sales culture. You will use your leadership skills and strategic planning to exceed targets and exceeding our venue partner’s expectations at all times.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Always aiming to exceed targets by providing customers with an exemplary and motivating sales experience.
  • To proactively target sales, driving new business pipeline to support budgeted revenues.
  • Achieve venue revenue targets by creating and executing the sales strategy for the site and deliver this in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, to ensure full alignment and a collaborative sales approach. 
  • Proactive management of key accounts and local sales activity to win market share and increase penetration of large customers.
  • Support on site sales team with continuous growth and development plans and high levels of engagement, morale and motivation.
  • Establish account development plans for key clients to understand the overall value and business potential for the business.
  • Understand, utilise and contribute to the venue one page strategy document aligning key activity to drive sales.
  • Align sales activity with those of the company to identify and agree mutually beneficial focus areas and show clear ROI of value in partnership.
  • Ensure sales team compliance of all CRM systems.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You will be an experienced and result-driven professional with a strong foothold in the UK market and a proven track record in developing and winning new business. A hospitality sales background is essential , ideally in an arena, venue, or hotels or other hospitality settings. We would consider someone who wishes to step up to into their first senior sales role if they have previously worked in sales in a similar volume venue. Strong business sense is needed to increase and optimise sales in a setting where targets are strictly adhered to. You will have the ability to guide and motivate your team and drive sales concepts with initiative. The capacity to cooperate with other departments and influence a variety of stakeholders in order to accomplish group corporate goals is essential.  You will be delivering a sales service to a client with high end expectations!

You will also have:

  • The ability to align and influence different stakeholders and work alongside other functions to achieve collective business objectives.
  • Experience in implementing best practice and innovation in a sales team environment.
  • Experience in budget management and measuring sales performance.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) and Salesforce (desirable).
  • A strong knowledge of the local market.
  • Confident presentation ability.
  • Excellent business relationship building skills and understanding of customer needs.
  • The ability to work under pressure to deliver measurable sales targets.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to prioritise various job demands.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
