What you’ll do: 

  • Greet staff and visitors and ensure they adhere to the required security protocols 

  • Monitoring of CCTV, Access Control and other protective systems  

  • Act as a first line response to activations & incidents or fault reporting  

  • Log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff 

  • To carry out regular patrols throughout the shift

What you bring: 

  • Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management as well as local police and fire authorities  

  • Over 21 years of age 

  • A full current driving license & SIA License 

  • Excellent communication and awareness skills 

  • Experience in working in a similar role 

  • Knowledge of security techniques and site and local emergency procedures 

  • Due to the nature of the site, The premises are residential units which house ex-offenders in the community- This means that this role is subject to a full DBS clearance.

Main Responsibilities

  • To work directly with Approved Premises residents to reduce and manage the risks of re-offending and potential harm and to contribute to the management of offenders in the community either on licence or community sentences. 
  • Comply with all Sodexo company policies/procedures
  • Comply with all legislative requirements
  • Adhere to any local client site rules and regulations
  • Role model safe behaviour
  • Unsociable hours in line with business requirements will be required
  • Flexibility on work schedule and location maybe required
 

All post holders are required to complete Enhanced DBS clearance

The Ideal Candidate

  •  
  • Strong, verbal and written communication skills, in English language, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, including those who may present difficult or aggressive behaviour.
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity
  • Computer literate

Desirable -

  • Understanding of factors related to offending – e.g. substance use, mental health
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk assessment/ risk management relating to offenders
  • Knowledge and understanding of the work of the Criminal Justice system and Probation Service
  • Awareness of health and safety issues
