Cafe Chef at Gallery of Modern Art One Cafe

Job Introduction

Are you a great cook and a self confessed foodie! We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef for Café Modern 1 at the Gallery of Modern Art.

Café Modern 1 is 100 seater, self service café within the Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh. We are much loved by our regulars for our location and salads, soups, hot food and home baking.

The emphasis is on fresh, tasty food prepared daily, Everything is made in our kitchen is made from scratch, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.

The right person should have previous experience of high volume catering and be used to working in a fast paced, busy kitchen environment.

Daily duties would include: Preparing soups, salads, main courses, bread and scones with general kitchen duties as and when required

This is a full time position –- 5 days from 7, which will include week-end work. We also cater for occasional evening events, which you may be required to work at.

The Ideal Candidate

• A hard working and reliable attitude
• Good kitchen practice, knowledge of food preparation and ingredients
• Experience of dealing with suppliers and placing orders
• Ability to prioritise and multi task
• Good understanding of English, both written and orally
