Job Introduction

  • Ensuring the smooth running of service provision within the contract scope whilst achieving an acceptable balance with health and safety, cost accountability and, at all times, maintaining. company values 

  • To ensure the prompt and efficient preparation of all meals to the company’s standard and to the client’s satisfaction and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to the required standard in the service level agreement. 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • To undertake business activities with and on behalf of Client Organisations 

  • To review and maintain individual budgets and monitor/ action performance. 

  • To undertake administrative activities for Client Organisations and for Sodexo ensuring Company/Statutory Regulations are met. 

  • To report on business activities and financial performance for Client Organisations and for Sodexo. 

  • To Identify cost variance, understand the details of the variances to such degree that a full explanation can be given to the Account Manager during operational review meetings. 

  • To plan, implement, monitor and control both quality and quantity of service to Company standards. 

  • To identify and propose recommendations for new services and/or business opportunities within Client Organisations and on agreement, implement. 

  • To maintain and improve the Company profitability from the business under his/her control. 

  • To ensure that his/her subordinates comply with all legislation and statutory requirements. 

  • To plan, organise, co-ordinate those activities involved in the motivation and appraisal of immediate subordinates. 

  • To analyse the total workload and plan activities so that time is spent effectively 

  • To promote the involvement of Sodexo services with existing Clients. 

  • Achieve Green pass within each Safegard audit annually, review action plan and ensure corrective actions are in place 

  • Achieve minimum of 95% compliance to the UBHC 

  • Ensure weekly trading is accurate and books closed on time within the agreed time frames 

  • Ensure ROL is implemented to full potential and achieve platinum standard consistently.  

  • Ensure correct procedure is followed regarding to staff recruitment / training and holiday 

  • Ensure site is 100% compliant to the PMS audit 

  • Ensure site is 100% compliant to the chef works audit 

  • Ensure all training records are completed and up to date and training plan followed 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential 

  • Intermediate  food hygiene certificate 

  • IOSH managing safely 

 

  •  Good standard of literacy and numeracy 

  •  Previous catering experience 

  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff at all levels 

  • Good time management and organisational skills 

  • Ability to work well under pressure 

  • Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene 

  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate 

  • Self-motivated  

  • Sense of own initiative  

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team   

  • Flexible approach to role 

 

Desirable 

  • 706/2 or NVQ2 chef qualification, or equivalent  

  • Previous experience of catering management  

  • Experience of managing a team in an educational establishment  

  • Experience of managing budgets 

  • Experience of delivering training using company guidelines  

  • Computer literacy  

  • Good standard of financial acumen  

  • Ability to develop increasing individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
