Job Introduction

  • Day to day management of the unit

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure weekly and monthly trading returns (via E-prophit) and UDC/Payroll/RightTime are completed accurately and transmitted at the appointed times
  • Maintain and Control of all costs such as labour and expenses
  • To maintain/oversee high standards of Food production and food quality
  • Comply with all company and client polices and Health & Safety regulations
  • Control of raw materials and portion control delivered to the company standards
  • To ensure that excellent levels of service is being delivered to customers and clients at all times
  • To conduct daily pre-service briefs, highlighting promotional offers, Allergen information, staff counter allocation and other relevant topics
  • To achieve and understand unit margins and targets as set per budget
  • Ensure service availability of all service offers are to company minimum standards
  • Insure clear communication and lead by example, demonstrating a pleasant, polite, efficient, caring and friendly service to customers and clients
  • Work as a team to promote good working relationships within the Sodexo Management and site based teams
  • Comply with Company Cash management policy and procedure
  • To ensure daily ROL is in place and recorded accurately
  • To ensure temperatures, daily/weekly/monthly and periodic cleaning schedules and recorded daily (Paper form /CheckIt)
  • To hold the weekend phone 3 or 4 times in a year

The Ideal Candidate

  • Management knowledge of Food Safety (Food safety qualification equivalent to Level 3)
  • Management knowledge of Health and Safety (IOSH/Managing Safely)
  • Knowledge of working in a leadership role in catering services
  • Leadership skills and knowledge
  • People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel and outlook)
  • Able to demonstrate attention to details and adherence to standards
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships within a contract environment
