Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for a General Manager to join our Heritage Portfolio Team based at The V&A Museum in Dundee.

Our unique team run the services across the restaurant and cafe and also the event operations within the beautiful V&A Dundee, Scotland's design museum.

You will lead the catering operations, sales and administration teams, delivering a food and beverage proposition which matches the venues ambition.

You will be responsible for our financial performance, driving sales, managing cost and meeting both client and company expectations.

We ideally want to hear from people in a similar role perhaps in the hotel industry, you can be experienced in a general manager role or perhaps looking for the next step up in your career.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of the Heritage Portfolio service within the V&A
  • Create a F&B proposition in our outlets that enhances the visitor experience at the V&A and engages with the local dining market
  • Deliver a guest experience in both retail and events that matches the ethos, values and standards of Heritage Portfolio.
  • Complete weekly and monthly commercial activity including forecasting, trading, analysis and reporting
  • Manage, motivate and support your full time employees to maintain a positive working environment which drives a culture of success
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships
  • P&L responsibility for V&A Dundee with weekly, monthly and annual targets set for revenue and profit

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record in operational management in a similar environment
  • Experience of managing a multi-department team
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial and commercial information
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • A passion for hospitality, food, beverage and service
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
