Job Introduction

We are looking for a creative and passionate Hospitality & Events Manager to join our Sodexo Team onsite, working under Heritage Portfolio at The Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh. Heritage Portfolio are our Cultural Destinations experts delivering world class events across the UK. You will be responsible for managing a diverse mix of events, including weddings, memorials, and corporate events. 

To be successful in this role you will have experience working in a complex venue juggling multiple events across several event spaces, and you will be more than willing to get stuck in with the physical side of things, assisting with event set ups and break downs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure all event planning, operational and kitchen service delivery functions for The RBGE events contracts are in place using the resources available from the Account Director
  • Manage all quality control measures, Health & Safety and Hygiene systems to the desired standard of Heritage Portfolio
  • To understand and articulate service offers to venue clients, customers and the Heritage Portfolio team
  • Meet with RBGE sales team to assist in creating new offers, give support at trade shows and Fam trips to the benefit of RBGE events and Heritage Portfolio
  • To lead innovation and service styles that drives positive PR, positive client feedback, increased revenues or win new business
  • To play an active part within the wider events team – contribute to team activities, discussions and decisions to grow and improve the Heritage Portfolio business
  • To articulate the service offers for each event, the food element, the equipment, the flow and the customer experience to improve the Heritage Portfolio business
  • To adhere to all client’s contractual obligations and conduct day to day Heritage Portfolio business in an appropriate manner and within the agreed contractual terms

The Ideal Candidate

What we are looking for

  • Proven working experience managing multiple events in a venue with multiple event areas 
  • Experience and understanding of events planning and design
  • Financial awareness of costing, capable of identifying revenue and maximising opportunities
  • Confident communicator with strong people management skills, and the ability to present to colleagues, peers and clients, building strong relationships
  • Ability to be adaptable and fleixble while producing working to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Willingness to be hands on, assisting with event set ups and breaks downs
  • Computer literate, competent with Microsoft Office programs
