The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our vibrant catering team. You will play a vital role in providing breakfast, lunch, supper, and morning and afternoon snacks for our students and staff and ensuring that our dining services continue to be a pillar of our school community. You will support our chefs in the daily preparation and service of food, maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in the preparation and service of meals and refreshments in accordance with the menu.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas.
- Support the kitchen team in various tasks, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Help with the setup and clearing of dining areas.
- Engage positively with students and staff, promoting a welcoming dining atmosphere.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food safety standards
What you bring:
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role, preferably in a school or large-scale food service environment.
- A passion for food and food service, coupled with a desire to contribute to a positive dining experience for students and staff.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends.
