Job Introduction

As a Assistant Hospitality Manager for Sodexo at LVS Ascot, London Road, Ascot, SL5 8DR, you will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations as well as the finances for your school’s kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring that the food and level of service are of the highest calibre and that the school catering is among the best in the region. Your attitude will influence your team's daily lives as the person they go to for direction and support, which will in turn foster a vibrant and productive work environment.

What you do:

  • Attend all Hospitality Meetings
  • Generate and record all charges for all ad hoc services
  • Enter the Hospitality events into both the Catering diary and electronically into the Catering Calendar.
  • Set up and serve at all Hospitality events.
  • Arrange sufficient staffing to facilitate smooth running of events
  • Liaise with the Catering Manager and Head Chef for smooth running of events
  • To input invoices and stock into Sodexo computerised accounting system.
  • To input Kronos information into the Sodexo computerised system
  • To take notes at Food forums, disciplinary, grievance and investigation meetings as requested
  • To complete filing, shredding and photocopying in a timely manner
  • To ensure all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customer’s special dietary requirements.
  • To complete all Administration in compliance with Environment, Health and Safety and Food
  • To complete all required paperwork correctly, legibly and in a timely manner with due consideration given to confidentiality of input and outputs.
  • To attend training sessions appertaining to the post.
  • To undertake any reasonable requests made by management to ensure that the overall service standard is maintained.
  • Ensure confidentially and timelines are adhered to
  • To deputise in the Catering Managers absence (covering sickness and holidays).
  • Communicate with suppliers relevant to Hospitality to ensure smooth running of site i.e Alcohol and Linen orders.
  • Take part in lunch service, serving customers during busy periods.

What you bring:

  • Must have expertise on cooking on a large scale, anywhere between 100 – 1300 students.
  • Have experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
  • Have previous staff supervision experience or line management experience.
  • Have experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
  • Be aware of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy Kitchen environment.
  • Be professional, leading by example and having a positive outlook is key.
  • Hold basic food handling skills certification:
    • NVQ Level 2
    • Level 2 Food safety Certificate
    • A minimum of 1 years of experience in hands on cooking, training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be given.
