Sodexo Live! have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Catering and Events Manager to join our first-class team at Headingley Stadium, the home of Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

The site is steeped in sporting legend. With sweeping views over two international sporting arenas, our venue is an inspirational choice for corporate and private events. Headingley Stadium is an iconic dual-sport venue, uniquely hosting both cricket and rugby matches, including international fixtures. It has a rich history, being home to some of the most memorable moments in both sports, such as record-breaking Test cricket matches and thrilling rugby league encounters. Working here means being part of an energetic atmosphere where world-class athletes compete, and passionate fans create an unforgettable experience—all at a legendary venue that blends tradition with modernity.

In this exciting, fast paced, and challenging role you will manage the match day hospitality and conference & events on site, delegating and communicating responsibilities effectively to your team, ensuring delivery is consistently of high quality.

You will be experienced in managing high volume meetings and events, ideally within a stadium environment, but we would love to hear from people from similar sized venues.

This outstanding opportunity will suit a creative individual who thrives on delivering a world class guest experience. You will ensure the timely and efficient planning and service delivery of all C&E functions, match day hospitality and major events. Match and event days will require flexible working hours, with shifts that may start early and finish late. You will have a positive can-do mind set and confident working under pressure.

Main Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage day to day site specific conference & events and match day hospitality. 
  • Delegating and communicating responsibilities effectively to team members making sure delivery is consistently of high quality and offers a professional service to customers.
  • Build strong relationships with fellow Heads of Departments to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • As figurehead of the business, promote the venue to its maximum potential building relationships with clients, customers, and employees alike.
  • To deliver a food and drinks service to an exceptionally high standard.
  • To manage a complete guest welcome for all visitors and ensuring a focus on customer journey.
  • Deliver on the job training to ensure the team have the correct skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Take accountability for stock levels, wastage, and operating costs.
  • To control costs through effectively managing costed labour rotas and operating with agreed labour %.
  • Ensure that all additional charges at events are tracked and charged.

    Experienced people manager who can lead teams to deliver outstanding customer service.

    Excellent interpersonal skill, with proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

    IT literate and confident with embracing technology

    Excellent communication skills.
